Hayden Medical's Mayo Scissors are available in a variety of sizes and 3 finishes: Stainless Steel, Super-Cut and Tungsten Carbide Our Stainless steel Mayo scissors are most commonly used as an accessory to standard trays and instrument sets. The Mayo is a great all-around scissor and is commonly used for blunt dissection. Super-Cut Mayo scissors are most ideal for cutting tissue. The micro serrations and super fine opposing blade help to provide less tissue slippage and more accurate cutting action. Our Super-Cut Mayo scissors have black handles and a matte finish to dull glare from lighting. Tungsten Carbide Mayo scissors have Tungsten Carbide inserts in the blades. Tungsten Carbide is 4x stronger than steel and those blades help to cut thick, fibrous tissue easier. They are also commonly used to cut abdominal sutures during a tummy tuck.
